Paul James Cahill is a Belfast-based composer, producer, and music educator with a passion for storytelling through sound. He creates evocative scores that blend ambient, classical, and electronic elements for film, games, and media.
Paul holds a BA (Hons) in Music from The Open University and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Music. His academic journey has deepened his understanding of composition, orchestration, and music history — all of which inform his creative process.
Alongside his composing work, Paul is an experienced guitar teacher, offering private lessons that focus on technique, musicality, and creative development. He has taught students of all ages, encouraging them to explore both performance and composition.
Whether working on a tightly scripted film score or an experimental soundscape, Paul’s approach is grounded in empathy, communication, and a love for the craft. He brings both professionalism and artistry to every project.

An atmospheric score composed for a large orchestra, exploring the erosion of city soundscapes influence on instrumentation. The score uses minimalist textures and slow-building layers to mirror modern city tone and pacing.
